These were truly the happiest nights out of my entire life. Reg was the best. I miss those times so much. Thank you to our Ray for making this recording. It may be blurry at times but thank goodness we have these rare records. Bless you Reg x
This brings back fond memories of the Black Cap
The funniest part was when a chunk of the takings went missing over a few months & when the finger was pointed at Tom he vanished leaving Babs & the Cap to it's fate.
😂
Wonderful Shuff. The brilliant Rex Jameson.
Wish I'd been less uptight and more outgoing and made friends in these times what an amazing time to be alive
Just one more night like this and I could die happy.
Marvelous!
Brilliant. By the time I got to see him/her at New Black Cap 1973, s/he was usually too drunk to perform.
I.never knew of this act. He is 1 of the people in the classic Candid Camera " newspaper shop sketch where Jonathan Routh tears a page from the paper
Rex was amazing in spite and because of who he was . I talk about him within the book “Sorry Darling it’s Way Past Time “ ( updated kindle edition.) when he was on a huge show prior to the legendary Dorothy Squires at the Paladium many here May remember it…he tore the roof off as Mrs Shuffle ….what a night . I met him out of london in Wolverhampton . A rare move from London , sadly amazing . He didn’t make old bones we all know why …..never forget legends… Bunny Thomas / Thomas Bunn .
I was there as well it was fantastic ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️👍⭐⭐
I was there that night it was a Fantastic night x
The great Shufflewick. Sad end to her life
I saw her (him) at The Black Cap, Camden Town, circa 1977...drunk and brilliant..He (she) used to occasionally double up with Mark Flemming, a glam acid mouthed act, who everyone was terrified of being singled out by and equally hilarious. Thanks for the laughter fellas, so fondly remembered.
Fantastic to remember the times & talent of Shuff. Flem. Alistair Harlequeen & Regina Fong. Long live the memory of "The Black Cap", Campden Town!❤
Miss you so fucking much....
Does anyone know where Rex is buried? Last resting place.

I saw MRS SHUFFLEWICK many times performing at LONDON gay bars.....This video is priceless..
What year would this be?
1982
I moved just around the corner to where that club was in 1993 but sadly I think it had closed by then.

Do you know where Rex is buried? Final resting place.
@@pauljay5478 Sorry, no.
@@pauljay5478 Golders Green Crematorium. The paper of the time said that 500 people attended the funeral! That's a marvellous turn out.
@@MarleneSB Do you know if there is a plaque or headstone still?
@@pauljay5478 No, sorry.
What a find, watching in isolation in Australia 🇦🇺 2020
Isolation? Are you OK my friend?
Thank you for this wonderful posting. Takes me back to a time when there was an element of fun in acts like this. A nicer time altogether.
Thank you
I assume there are no clips of Russ Conway from this show.
How amazing! Thank you for putting it on! During the time their Act was being honed to perfection , it clearly became a 'Role Reversal'.
How many a good time in the 70s and 80s with Mark Fleming and miss shufflewick How times have changed We Would drive down from Luton always had a good laugh DaveFrom Luton was the DJ
Hope the black cap reopens!!!
I thought they demolished the place.
Its apartments now ... total disgrace
The past really is another country. A gentler time and very different approach to Drag when compared to today.
Her Imperial Highness!!
Loved the humour of the 60's - some well oiled one-liners! Great & thank you!
Don't fail to listen to the other side!
Fabulous!
Remember Lee at the Bishops Waltham social club back in the 70's
My uncle Marc used to perform at our pub the Morpeth arms in millbank Susannah
